Wednesday Schneider Lawn Care Golf League    Annual Meeting April 6th , 2011  Rolling Meadows Clubhouse 6:00 PM

Present Members: 24 members of the golf league. Absent members: 12 members of the golf league. 

OLD BUSINESS: A motion was made by Tim Lakin that last year’s minutes be accepted, and seconded by Dave Schneider. The motion carried. A reading of last year’s treasurer’s report was made by Treasurer B.J. Benson. A motion was made by Steve Millin and seconded by Jerry Hall to be accepted as read. The motion carried.

ROLL CALL: Secretary Rich Smith made a roll call of the team rosters. 16 of 18 teams are committed to play this year. Gerry Scharf and Scott Olsen, Harry Johns and Fred Walker, Dan Schultz and Don Adelmeyer, Tim Lakin and Andy Wright, and John Patel and his new partner are the new realigned teams. This leaves the league with 17 teams with hopefully Pat Harshbarger and Glen McBride filling the last spot.

NEW BUSINESS:

Election of Officers: Dave Schneider was nominated as President by Rich Smith and seconded by Harry Johns. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Dave Schneider. Harry Johns was nominated as Vice President by Dave Schneider and seconded by John Patel. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Harry Johns. Rich Smith was nominated as Secretary by Dave Schneider and seconded by B.J. Benson. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Rich Smith. B.J. Benson was nominated as Treasurer by Chuck Gibson and seconded by Gerry Scharf. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for B.J. Benson.

Committees:

Sunshine Chuck Gibson.
Mid-Season Tourney- Gerry Scharf and Scott Olsen.
End of Season Tourney- Jerry and Joe Hall.
Rules- Dave Schneider and Harry Johns.
 
  • A motion was made by Rich Smith and seconded by B.J. Benson to start the season on April 27th and continue for 20 weeks with a midseason and end of season tourney. Motion carried.
  •  A motion was made by Steve Millin and seconded by Mark Woodruff to split the 3 points awarded at the end of a round as follows: 1 pt each to low net for head to head amongst each player and 1 point for team low net. Motion carried.
  • A motion was made by Rich Smith and seconded by B.J. Benson to award a point for every team a team beats for “team net” on a weekly basis. Ties will be awarded a split. Therefore, the team with the lowest “team net” will receive an additional 17 points if we have an 18 team league. 2nd low will receive 16, 3rd low 15 and so on. After a long discussion, the motion carried.
  • A motion was made by Dave Schneider and seconded by Tim Lakin that all teams must complete 9 holes of golf to have the league count. Course makes the decision to pull the league off of the course. All teams will be awarded 0 points for the week and skins will carry over to the following week. No scores will be counted for completed rounds. The Motion carried.
Other notes:

Dave Schneider announced he will be sponsoring the league again and has found additional sponsors. Every hole will have a hole prize every week. Dave and Harry Johns will decide on the shot for the hole prizes. Dave also mentioned some deals he worked out for the sponsors for food nights. Watch the board and your cards for announcements.

Dave Brandenburg spoke of the changes to the course, especially hole #27. 20 hole punch cards remain the same as last year, $306.
League fees that include skins will stay the same as last year $71.

Rich Smith announced we had $25 leftover from our end of season party at Oscar’s. This will be out into our prize fund for this year.

A motion was made by Gerry Scharf and Seconded by Dave Schneider to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM.
