Wednesday Schneider Lawn Care Golf League

Annual Meeting            March 30th,   2010

Present members: 16 members of the golf league. Absent members: 20 members of the golf league.


OLD BUSINESS: A motion was made by Gerry Scharf that last year’s minutes be accepted, and seconded by B.J. Benson. The motion carried. A reading of last year’s treasurer’s report was made by Treasurer B.J. Benson. A motion was made by Mark Woodruff and seconded by Joe Hall to be accepted as read. The motion carried.

ROLL CALL: Secretary Rich Smith made a roll call of the team rosters. 14 of the 16 are committed to play this year. Rich Smith and Ryan Vanderschaaf, Pat Harshbarger and Mike Meilahn, John Patel and Fred Walker, Ken Schultz and Dan Schultz, Steve Lloyd and John Lloyd, and Eric Amend and Fred Bergman are now teams. The league now has 19 teams. An additional team is needed to complete the league.

 
NEW BUSINESS: Election of Officers: Tim Lakin was nominated as President by Rich Smith and seconded by Dave Schneider. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Tim Lakin. Dave Schneider was nominated as Vice President by Tim Lakin and seconded by B. J. Benson. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Dave Schneider. Rich Smith was nominated as Secretary by Tim Lakin and seconded by Mark Woodruff. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for Rich Smith.  B. J. Benson was nominated as Treasurer by Dave Schneider and seconded by Joe Hall. With no other nominations, a unanimous vote was cast for B.J. Benson. 

 Committees: Sunshine- Chuck Gibson.  Mid season tourney- B.J. Benson and John Hokenson.  End of season tourney- Mark Woodruff and Bob Harshbarger. Rules- Dave Schneider and Tim Lakin
 
  • A motion was made by Rich Smith and seconded by B.J Benson to start the season on April 28th and continue for 20 weeks with a midseason and end of season tourney. The motion carried.
  • A motion was made by Mark Woodruff and seconded by Dave Schneider to revamp the playoff schedule. The top 8 teams will play a bracket format at the end of season to finally get to the champion. Other non-qualifying teams will play position rounds each week for the final 3 weeks. The motion carried.
  • A motion was made by Rich Smith and seconded by B.J.Benson to allow Schneider Lawn Care to sponsor the league again for $180 for the 2009 season. Money will be paid out with 2 weekly hole prizes. The league will be known as “Schneider Lawn Care Golf League” for the 2010 season.
  • Dave Brandenburg spoke of the course conditions and the expected changes the course will see in 2010.
  • A motion was made by Mark Woodruff and seconded by John DuFrane

That the playoffs for the league will begin with the winner and runner-up of each half of play.  The winners of this first playoff will play for the championship of the league.  These playoffs to occur after league play is complete but the first half teams can play earlier if able to.

              An amendment was offered by BJ Benson and accepted by Mark Woodruff to have the first half player's playoff handicap, for their playoffs, be the lower of their first half handicap or their second half handicap.  

                 An amendment was offered by John DuFrane and accepted by Mark Woodruff that if there is a team or teams qualifying in both the first half playoff and the second half playoff, the team(s) will be replaced by the next team or teams with the most points for the season.  The team or teams being removed can select which half playoff they will vacate to the points team, if that playoff has not occurred prior to the end of the league season. The Motion carried.

  A motion was made by Todd Vahlsing and seconded by Tim Lakin to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM.
